
The purpose of Adding up to a lifetime is to equip young people with the knowledge and skills required to make informed choices when they face landmark financial decisions at various stages of their lives. Created by teachers for teachers this financial literacy CD-ROM is aimed at year 9-11 students (year 8-10 in Northern Ireland) and offers more than 25 hours of finance related learning activities based on the five stages of life:
- Life as a student
- Working life
- Relationships
- New life
- Active retirement
The materials can be used for whole class teaching and/or independent learning and is designed to be flexible, with full guidance provided for teachers in the supporting handbook. The materials are mapped across the curriculum, including citizenship, PSHE, vocational and workrelated and enterprise.
The English version of the resource was released in July 2006 and the Scottish and Northern Ireland versions in September 2007.
